The August 12 late slate is mostly a prop and contact-bat board. The cleanest strikeout angle is Ranger Suarez against Toronto, while the best hit-prop clusters come from Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Boston, San Diego, and the Mets. Several games have thin pitcher samples or incomplete lineups, so this slate rewards selectivity more than volume.
BOS at TOR (23:07 ET)
Boston has the cleaner side. Suarez brings the top strikeout profile on the board, and even though Toronto is a low-strikeout offense, the head-to-head history is strong enough to keep his over in play.
For Boston bats, Ceddanne Rafaela is the top 2+ hit candidate after a strong multi-hit stretch. Masataka Yoshida is the steadier low-strikeout contact option, and Wilyer Abreu adds power with enough recent contact to stay interesting. Toronto's best counter is Alejandro Kirk, who has been hot and has handled Suarez better than most of the lineup.
Targets: Suarez over 4.5 strikeouts, Rafaela 1+ hit, Yoshida 1+ hit, Kirk 2+ hits as the contrarian Toronto angle.
NYM at ATL (23:15 ET)
This is the most interesting moneyline disagreement on the slate. The report grades New York closer to a coin flip than the market, but both starting-pitcher samples need caution. Thornton has been solid over a modest workload, while Mahle's clean ERA is based on only six innings.
The Mets side has several usable bats. Bo Bichette and Carson Benge are the headliners, both carrying strong recent multi-hit form. Jared Young is a deeper contact target from the lower half of the order. For Atlanta, Drake Baldwin and Michael Harris II are the best hit-profile names.
Targets: NYM moneyline at plus money, Mahle under 5.5 strikeouts, Bichette 1+ hit, Benge 1+ hit.
CIN at CWS (23:40 ET)
Both teams carry risk. Cincinnati has been cold, but Castillo's tiny and ugly run-prevention sample makes him difficult to trust. That points more toward Castillo's strikeout under than a full-throated Reds stack.
For Cincinnati, Elly De La Cruz and Sal Stewart are the offensive names to isolate. De La Cruz has ceiling but strikeout risk, while Stewart is the cleaner power target. On the White Sox side, Chase Meidroth, Brenton Doyle, and Sam Antonacci are the better contact looks against Lowder.
Targets: Castillo under 5.5 strikeouts, De La Cruz 1+ hit, Stewart 1+ hit, Meidroth 2+ hits.
MIL at SD (20:10 ET)
The clean correlated path is Milwaukee with Dustin May strikeouts. May projects above his 4.5 number, and Milwaukee is priced close enough to even money to build around. The concern is San Diego's recent contact form, which could shorten May's night.
San Diego still has some of the best hitter targets in the game. Jackson Merrill is the hottest bat in this matchup, and Ty France is the most reliable contact profile. For Milwaukee, Andrew Vaughn is the top hit target, with Jackson Chourio carrying leadoff volume and power.
Targets: May over 4.5 strikeouts, Milwaukee moneyline, Vaughn 1+ hit, Chourio 1+ hit. Merrill and France are strong hit props if playing the San Diego side.
PIT at MIA (22:40 ET)
This is one of the weaker games for a main build. Pittsburgh is ice cold, Miami is closer to flat, and neither pitcher creates a positive strikeout edge. That makes the game more useful for isolated hitter props than SGP construction.
Otto Lopez is the clear Miami target with a strong average, low strikeout rate, and recent multi-hit form. Pittsburgh's best profile is Nick Gonzales, though his recent form is much colder than his season-long contact metrics.
Targets: Lopez 1+ or 2+ hits. Gonzales is a reversion-only look.
SEA at NYY (23:05 ET)
Both offenses enter cold, and neither strikeout prop creates a strong edge. This projects more like a pass game than a slate centerpiece.
Cole Young is the best Seattle 2+ hit candidate because of recent multi-hit form from the top of the order. For the Yankees, Trent Grisham and Luis Garcia Jr. are the contact looks, though the broader lineup form is poor.
Targets: Cole Young 2+ hits, Grisham 1+ hit, Garcia 1+ hit. Avoid forcing a full-game build.
CLE at DET (22:40 ET)
Cleveland has one of the best collections of 2+ hit candidates on the late slate. Griffin is volatile on the strikeout side, but the plus-money over keeps him alive if the Detroit lineup confirms as strikeout-friendly.
Steven Kwan, Chase DeLauter, and Jose Ramirez all bring hot recent contact into the matchup. Angel Genao is the ceiling name if he starts, with a strong contact profile but a smaller sample.
Targets: Cleveland moneyline, Griffin over 5.5 strikeouts at plus money, Kwan 1+ hit, DeLauter 1+ hit. Genao is a 2+ hit watch-list play if available.
CHC at WSH (22:45 ET)
Chicago has the best recent team offense on the late slate, but the Cubs lineup was not fully posted at analysis time. That makes pre-lock verification important. Washington is also swinging well, and Peterson's low strikeout profile points toward the under.
Jacob Young is the Washington sleeper because of a strong recent hit run from the lower part of the order. CJ Abrams is the boom-or-bust ceiling play with power, speed, and a wider range of outcomes.
Targets: Peterson under 4.5 strikeouts, Jacob Young 2+ hits, Abrams 1+ hit. Re-check the full Cubs lineup before adding Chicago props.
TB at ATH (19:05 ET)
Tampa Bay is the better team with the better starter, but the price is steep. The tricky part is that the best strikeout edge belongs to Jack Perkins, the Oakland pitcher, so it does not pair cleanly with Tampa Bay moneyline exposure.
The Tampa Bay hitter pool is excellent. Yandy Diaz is the best 2+ hit candidate on the entire slate, Junior Caminero adds power and contact, and Liam Hicks plus Jonny DeLuca give the Rays multiple ways to attack a weak Perkins profile.
Targets: Perkins over 4.5 strikeouts as a standalone prop, Diaz 2+ hits, Caminero 1+ hit, Tampa Bay moneyline only if the price fits the build.
COL at AZ (19:40 ET)
Arizona is the better team at home against a vulnerable Feltner profile, but the price is already expensive. There is no strong strikeout edge here, so the game is mostly a hitter-prop and cautious moneyline spot.
Gabriel Moreno is the best Arizona contact target. Jake McCarthy is the best Colorado hit target by season average and 2+ hit probability, though the Rockies offense is cold overall.
Targets: Moreno 1+ or 2+ hits, Arizona moneyline only as a small parlay leg, McCarthy as the best Colorado one-off.
Slate Shortlist
Best strikeout props: Suarez over 4.5, Perkins over 4.5, May over 4.5, Castillo under 5.5, Mahle under 5.5, Peterson under 4.5.
Best 2+ hit candidates: Yandy Diaz, Ceddanne Rafaela, Jackson Merrill, Alejandro Kirk, Bo Bichette, Carson Benge, Otto Lopez, Steven Kwan, Chase DeLauter, Ty France.
Best correlated builds: Boston with Suarez strikeouts and Boston contact bats; Mets with Mahle under and Bichette/Benge; Milwaukee with May strikeouts and Vaughn/Chourio; Cleveland with Griffin strikeouts and Kwan/DeLauter; Cincinnati with Castillo under and De La Cruz/Stewart.
Notes Before Lock
Several spots need verification close to first pitch: incomplete Cubs and Tigers lineup data, very thin samples for Mahle and Castillo, no usable Jackson Kent data, and no weather sync in the source report. Treat the targets above as a slate map, not a lock sheet.
Notes to Watch
Best strikeout target on the late board because Suarez has cleared this number in three recent starts against Toronto and the price is plus money.
Playable only as a standalone strikeout prop or carefully priced alt, not as the core of a Tampa Bay SGP.
The clean construction is Milwaukee moneyline with May strikeouts and Milwaukee contact bats.
Best under look on the slate, though the pitcher role and limited sample should be verified before locking.
